Rihanna’s career is flying at the moment – she recently bagged a Grammy Award & has celebrated huge success with many of her singles – but the one thing the ‘Umbrella’ hitmaker is most grateful for is a Brit Award.

The singer – who turns 20 today, is bursting with pride that her music is appreciated across the pond. “I’m more excited than the Grammys,” she said. “The Brits are fantastic and I’m thrilled with my nomination.”

The pint-sized singer – who’s set to battle it out with Alicia Keys, Kylie Minogue, Bjork and Feist, in the Best International Female category, doesn’t reckon she’ll win the coveted gong – but is glad to be taking part. “I’ve got my fingers crossed. It’s a tough category,” she added.

What’s she’s most looking forward to, though, is her special performance with “badass” Brit band Klaxons.

She added to British newspaper The Sun: “They’re a badass band. I’m so excited to be working with characters like that. I was talking to Mark Ronson about our duet and he thinks it’s the coolest thing ever.

“I want to release our collaboration. It is so sick. I really wish we’d worked together earlier.”

Kate Beckinsale graces the March cover of Allure magazine. In the issue she talks about her gorgeous hubby Len, her accidental movie career, and why she almost quit to become a doctor. Here are some highlights from the interview:

On her job:
“Acting requires so much delving into yourself and exposing yourself, so it’s sensible to be wondering, Do I still want to be doing this? But I enjoy the work, and everything is so solid at home. I don’t care if they say I’ve had buttock implants. Or not. I don’t care. Go ahead! That’s the nice thing about getting to the age I am. I could have said I didn’t care before—but secretly I did. And now I really don’t.”

On considering quitting acting to become a doctor:
“I was at the point where I was wondering whether the work I was doing was sustaining me intellectually. I’d had enough of the ludicrous questions. Like, ‘Have you had your boobs done?’ or ‘Have you slept with Colin Farrell?'”

On struggling with her career:
“I sort of ended up in Los Angeles by accident. And it was sort of terrible to be jostled into this position of a fame-hungry starlet. Which is so honestly not me! In fact, I could use a bit more of that because I am such a hermit! So I allowed myself to get really bothered.”

On her husband, Len Wiseman:
“I have a husband who lit-erally worships me. And cleans the house. And blow-dries my daughter’s hair.”

Rihanna Celebrating Her Birthday At Les Deux

The Umbrella singer – Rihanna who doesn’t turn 20 until Wednesday – was partying with friends including Kanye West and actor Wilmer Valderrama at Los Angeles’ Les Deux nightclub when the food fight began on Tuesday night.

An onlooker said: “There was cupcake frosting all over Rihanna’s face and the group was hysterically laughing to the point of almost tears!”

Chris Brown, who is rumoured to be dating Rihanna, was later given a standing ovation after he sang her an acapella version of Happy Birthday.

Despite Chris insisting he and Rihanna are “just friends”, onlookers at the exclusive club said the pair were “cuddling and acting very cosy all night”.
