Rihanna proudly sported a boyish cropped hairstyle at last night’s Grammy Awards, identifying it as her favourite look to date.

She has previously had long hair and an asymmetrical bob, but told E! that she loves her new image.

Talking about the public’s fascination with her hair, she said: “We do try to switch it up… but we’re not gonna [go] long for a while, we like it short.”

She added: “I love it, it’s much easier for me so we’re gonna keep it like this. If anything [it’ll] be shorter.”

Britney Spears Fallen Top, Pokies, Ripped Fishnets, Panties Showing

Britney Spears showed off the disappointing results of an intensive home make-over session during a trip to Millenium dance studio over the weekend.

Last week, it was widely reported that celebrity colourist and Extreme Makeover consultant, Kim Vo, spent 4 hours at the troubled singer’s L.A. home working on her neglected tresses.

However, judging by Brit’s bedraggled appearance on Saturday, 4 hours wasn’t nearly enough time to tease the pop wreck’s weave into something resembling a decent hairstyle.

Sporting ripped fish-nets, tacky red hotpants, a stained top and her usual bedraggled mop, braless Brit hit Millenium with dad Jamie for numerous cigarette breaks, punctuated by a spot of dance practice.

People quoted Vo as saying of his Brit assignment: “Britney needed some help with her extensions and wanted to talk about a new color. I hadn’t worked with her before, but they asked me so nicely to help,”

After streaking her dark brown locks with a caramel colour, he said: “We wanted to brighten it up a bit. She’s ready for something new.”

Carrie Underwood Glams At Grammy Awards 2008

Carrie Underwood, introduced by the night’s first performer and winner, Alicia Keys (for best female R&B vocal performance), popped up out of the Grammy stage to perform “Before He Cheats” in sexy black shorts and thigh high black boots. It was a surprising – and super sexy – contrast to the floral Zuhair Murad dress she wore on the red carpet.

Carrie Underwood’s “Before He Cheats” was named best female country vocal performance. “Before He Cheats,” written by Josh Kear and Chris Tompkins, was also named best country song.

Beyonce Knowles Glams At Grammy Awards 2008

The 50th anniversary celebration of the Grammy Awards had everything the show has become known for through the decades – duets and other collaborations, stage extravaganzas and surprises.

Triple threat – Cher (who had a great line: “I first started singing when Lincoln was president”) and Beyoncé Knowles team up to introduce a surprise performance by Tina Turner. Beyoncé looked fabulous in a glittering miniskirt, Cher looked well preserved and Tina looked like a performer who has been retired for a few years. Beyonce and Turner’s duet on Proud Mary was fun and energetic.
