Carrie Underwood’s New Album Set For October Release
American pop country music singer Carrie Underwood’s second studio album, “Carnival Ride,” will be released on Oct 23. “So Small,” the first single from the album was released to radio late last month.
A spokeswoman for the 24-year-old singer said she derived the name of the album from a lyric on the new disc and believes it mirrors the past few years of her life.
“You step onto this ride called life, and it’s a crazy thing you don’t know anything about, but you get on it anyway. You do what you can to lean different directions to try and get it to go where you want it to go, but you can’t stop it – it just keeps moving. That’s why ‘Carnival Ride’ works as my album title because it describes the wonderful craziness that I’ve been through over the past couple years,” Underwood said, according to the Country Standard Time.
Underwood won the fourth season of the talent show “American Idol” and has since become a multi-platinum selling recording artist.
She has been nominated for the MTV Video Music Awards’ Best New Artist category for her single “Before He Cheats” from her debut album “Some Hearts.” The music video has already won Video of the year, Female video of the year and Director of the year award at CMT Music Awards this year.
